Data Deletion Request
This page explains how to delete data associated with Yarn Costing Calculator. Google Play and Apple App Store require apps that collect user data to provide a way for users to request deletion of that data.
1. Data Stored on Your Device (Local Costing Data)
Your warp/weft lines, process costs, and saved costings are stored only on your device. We do not have access to this data on our servers.
To delete local data, you can:
- Delete individual costings — Open the App → Saved Costings → delete the entries you no longer need.
- Clear all App data — Android: Settings → Apps → Yarn Costing Calculator → Storage → Clear data. iOS: delete and reinstall the App, or offload the App from Settings → General → iPhone Storage.
- Uninstall the App — Removing the App from your device deletes all locally stored costing data.
Because this data never leaves your device (except when you voluntarily share a report), we cannot delete it remotely. You must use one of the methods above.
2. Analytics Data (PostHog)
Our production builds collect usage events, error reports, and session replays (with inputs
masked) through PostHog. This data is stored on PostHog's EU servers
(eu.i.posthog.com) on our behalf.
Analytics events are generally not linked to your name, email, or phone number. They may be associated with an anonymous device or session identifier created by the analytics SDK.
3. Advertising Data (Google AdMob)
The App shows ads on Android and iOS through Google AdMob. Google and its advertising partners may collect advertising-related data (such as your advertising ID, device information, IP address, and ad interactions) to serve and measure ads. We do not store your costing data on Google's servers.
You can limit or reset advertising data yourself:
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Reset advertising ID, or opt out of Ads Personalisation
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking (disable per app), or Settings → Privacy → Apple Advertising → turn off Personalised Ads
- Google Ad Settings: myadcenter.google.com — manage ad personalisation across Google services
- Ad consent (EEA/UK): Clear the App's data and reopen it to see the consent form again, or contact us if you need help changing your choice
Google retains ad-related data according to its own policies. For requests about data held directly by Google, you may also use Google's Data & Privacy tools.
4. How to Request Deletion of Analytics Data
To request deletion of analytics or diagnostic data we may hold about your use of the App, email us at:
Email: er.bhavinshiroya@gmail.com
Subject line: Data Deletion Request — Yarn Costing Calculator
Please include:
- That you are requesting deletion of data related to Yarn Costing Calculator
- The platform you use (Android or iOS)
- Whether you are requesting deletion of analytics data, advertising-related data we control, or both
- Approximate dates you used the App (helps us locate analytics records)
- Any additional details that may help identify your sessions (optional)
We will verify your request and respond within 30 days (or sooner where required by law). We will delete or anonymize identifiable analytics data in our PostHog project where reasonably possible. For data held by Google AdMob, we will assist where we can but some deletion must be done via Google directly (see Section 3).
5. Data You Shared Voluntarily
If you exported or shared a costing report via WhatsApp, email, or another app, that content is controlled by you and the service you shared it with. We cannot delete copies held by third-party apps. Delete those messages or files directly in the respective app.
6. What Happens After Deletion
- Local data: Deleted immediately when you clear app data or uninstall.
- Analytics data: Removed from our active PostHog project after we process your request; backups may persist for a limited period per PostHog's retention policies.
- Advertising data: Reset when you reset your advertising ID or change consent; Google may retain some data per its policies.
- Re-installing the App starts fresh with no prior local data unless you restore from a device backup.
